BHUBANESWAR: Close to a dozen agitating students of Lord Jagannath Mission’s College and School of Nursing were hospitalised late on Thursday after they lost consciousness during a face-off with the police. The students, who were agitating along the MG Road, took a small group of police by surprise and ran towards the PMG Square which is a prohibited area. The police blocked their route and pushed them back. The students alleged that the police engaged them in a scuffle which led to the deterioration in the situation. The nursing students then blocked the road and squatted till late into the night with a strong army of police standing guard. Bhubaneswar DCP Nitinjit Singh rushed to the spot and held discussions with the agitators who have been seeking better facilities at their institution and protection at the hostel by the management.
