Three days after the bus service between Agra and Gwalior was suspended due to a rise in the water level of the Chambal river, the Uttar Pradesh Roadways resumed it on Tuesday.

"All eight buses on the Agra-Gwalior route resumed service after the water of the river Chambal receded " said Raghavendra Singh, Assistant Regional Manager, UP Roadways.

The bus service was shut down on Sunday as a precautionary measure as the traffic movement on Dholpur bridge over the Chambal had become dangerous, he added.

The Chambal river on Sunday touched the danger mark at 137.3 metres. The water level had risen due to release of water from Kota Barrage upstream, irrigation department officials said.
