HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has assured all help to the farmers and villagers who are to be rehabilitated due to submergence of some of the villages in Nalgonda district following construction of the Pulichinthala irrigation project.The farmers, led by by Huzurnagar MLA N Uttam Kumar Reddy, met the chief minister here on Saturday and requested him to consider their problems sympathetically and clear files for their relief and rehabilitation at the earliest. The chief minister also agreed to consider all other issues raised by the farmers and their demands for approach CC roads, temples, masjids and other facilities in the rehabilitated colonies.Dr KL Rao Sagar, which is under construction on Krishna river at Pulichintala in Guntur district, is a balancing reservoir to store about 45.77 tmcft of water to facilitate supply of water for irrigation and to ensure timely nursery and transplantation operations during June and July in the Krishna delta. The barrage is under construction on the Krishna which flows between Pulichintala (V) in Guntur district and Vazinepally (V) in Nalgonda district.According to officials, 5,703 families have been identified as being eligible for receiving the relief and rehabilitation benefits as per norms. A new R&R site has been identified and permanent structures including a community hall, gram panchayat building and a school building have been constructed.
