CHENNAI: For someone like actress Amala Paul, who claims she doesn’t enjoy wearing jewellery, platinum is the best option. “Platinum is lightweight and elegant. It is not chunky like gold. I’m not a jewellery person at all, but I enjoy wearing platinum,” said Amala, when she launched Kama Jewellery’s Platinum Collection at Nathella Jewellery in the city recently. Kama Schachter, a manufacturer and exporter of diamond jewellery, entered the Chennai market through its association with Nathella on for Akshaya Tritiya. The new collection, ‘Pure as Love’, represents the grandeur and purity of love through the metal which is known for its everlasting nature – platinum. With over 320 pieces of jewellery in the collection, love bands, promise and engagement rings, chains and pendants will be on display at various jewellery outlets in the city. The starting price of jewellery in this collection is `10,000. Binay Goenka, VP Sales, Kama Schachter, said, “We decided to launch this collection during Akshaya Tritiya because people are inclined to platinum these days and look for something affordable.” As Amala inspected the rings on display she said, “I think the best way to wear platinum jewellery is with modern outfits. It adds class and changes the entire look.”
