And it's no sacrifice: Elton says 'I Do'

New Delhi: Sir Elton John married his long time partner David Furnish at Windsor's Guildhall Registry Office in the UK on Wednesday.

This wedding comes on the day parts of the UK officially legalised civil partnerships between same-sex couples.

Exited fans queued up at the venue hours before the stipulated time, just to watch the couple walk into the Registry Office.

The couple wore black suits with Elton sported a white tie, while David wore a black one.

The ceremony was a small, private affair with the couple's parents acting as witnesses. The marriage will be followed by a reception, which will take place at Elton's house.

Sources say the reception is expected to cost about £1 million, atleast £10,000 of which will go towards covering the cost of police and security.
