Hyderabad: Three more deaths due to swine flu have been reported in Hyderabad on Wednesday. This has taken the death toll in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to 10 this year. Both the states remain worst hit by the swine flu virus.
49 fresh cases of swine flu, the highest in a day, has been reported in the city. Meanwhile, the government has blamed private hospitals of admitting patients with mild symptoms to make profits. Swine flu continues to spread its wings across the country with fresh cases being reported daily.
One death each has been reported from Punjab, 4 deaths in Madhya Pradesh and 1 in Tamil Nadu already. 137 cases have been reported in Delhi so far.
The Indian Medical Association has issued a set of guidelines to tackle swine flu and urged citizens not to neglect minor cases of fever with breathlessness. Swine flu can have symptoms like fever, cough, sore throat and body ache.
Health Minister JP Nadda, however, maintained that there was no need to panic. He has directed officials of both Centre and state governments to stock up on emergency medicine for swine flu.
