TIRUMALA: The annual Anivara Asthanam in Srivari Temple was performed according to the sacred scriptures in a traditional manner, on Sunday.Procession of Visesha Padi and Nuthana Vastram by Pedda Jeeyar in the temple and Asthanam were performed in the Bangaru Vakili as part of the ritual.Anivara Asthanam is a ritual performed in the hill shrine where yearly records are submitted to the Lord. July, called 'Ani' in Tamil Nadu, is observed as the financial month, according to the solar almanac.The previous year's accounts of the office are presented before the deity by the principal officers and are taken back to signify that the 'Lord' finds the officers fit enough to hold their respective offices. New books will also be issued for recording finances of the next fiscal. In the evening, the deity and his Consorts were taken out in a colourful procession on Pushpa Pallaki. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Specified Authority chairman J Sathyanarayana, EO LV Subramanyam, JEO KS Srinivasa Raju and others were present.
