AP: Copying high during Maths exams

HYDERABAD: Incidents of malpractice during the Intermediate examinations witnessed a steep increase on days when mathematics exams took place.A lecturer on invigilation duty told Express that more students attempt copying on the days of mathematics, physics, chemistry, commerce and economics examinations.Telugu medium students attempt copying on English examination day, he said.According to a junior lecturer, many students fail in mathematics, science, commerce and economics subjects.That means more candidates would be taking these examination for the second or third time.So, they explore options like copying to pass the examination this time at any cost.Many lecturers said invigilators do not generally send away all those caught copying.In most cases, they will take away the material brought by the candidate and allow him to write the examination after warning him seriously.
