Vijayawada: Psycho-killer Rachakonda Sambasiva continues to elude police even though it has been six days since the police have launched a hunt for him in the Kondapalli forest area. The police have decided to stop combing operations from Wednesday as psycho-Samba is still at large though hundreds of police drawn from Guntur and Krishna districts have been combing the forest area. The police, however, decided to maintain vigil at all entrances leading to the Kondapalli forest area.

Speaking to Express over phone, Guntur urban crime DSP T Ravichandra said 45 police personnel and 25 hunters took part in the search operations on Tuesday. ‘’We will not take up combing operations from Wednesday, but police forces will be deployed at all routes that will lead to the Kondapalli forest,’’ he added.

It may be mentioned that home guards, trainee constables, civil police and armed reserve police forces participated in the search operations along with the anti-naxal squad.
