PATHANAMTHITTA: Devaswom and Transport Minister V S Sivakumar has said that the Army bailey bridge at Sabarimala, the one-way system linking Malikappuram with Chandranandan Road for the pilgrims to come back after darsan of Lord Ayyappa, will be operational before October 31.Presiding over the Sabarimala review meeting on the arrangements undertaken for the forthcoming pilgrimage season at Sannidhanam Devaswom Guest House on Sunday, the Minister said that the approach on Malikappuram temple was ready for the Army for the construction of the bailey bridge. The Minister said that the work on the other side of the approach road on the Chandranandan Road would begin on Monday.He said that the materials for the construction of the bailey bridge was already reached Sannidhanam.The Minister said that the engineering team personnel of the Army for the construction of the bailey bridge was already arrived at Sannidhanam. Swami Ayyappan road to be made motorable soon: The Minister said that the Swami Ayyappan Road, mainly used for the transportation of prasadam inputs and food items for the free-food distribution, would be ready for tractor operation by November 1. The road work at a cost of Rs 1.10 crore is sponsored by the Thiruvananthapuram-based Subramaniam Trust and the work on the road is already started, Sivakumar said.Queue complex work to be completed before the season: The Minister said that the work on the two queue complexes, one at Marakoottam and the other near Saramkuthi, would be completed before the beginning of the next season. Sivakumar said that the objections raised by the Forest Department would be sorted out. He said that he already held discussions with Forest Minister Ganeshkumar. The Minister said that the issue connected with the KSEB and the Kerala Water Authority on the supply line would be sorted out with the department heads by Additional Chief Secretary K Jayakumar.
