Guangzhou: Vikas Krishan won India's first boxing gold at the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou by beating Hu Qing of China in the 60 kg finals.
In a fight that went right down to the wire , Vikas pipped his Chinese opponent 5-4 to win India's third gold of the day.
Qing led in the early part of the match but Krishan fought back brilliantly even though he seemed to be in some discomfort during the match.
The 18 year old Vikas had earlier thrashed Uzbekistan's Hurshid Tojibaev 7-0 in the semi finals.
However, India were denied another boxing gold when Dinesh Kumar lost the lightweight 81 kg final to Uzbekistan's Elshod Rasulov.
Rasulov dominated right from the start and won the bout 10-4.
