Awarded senior fellowship

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Dr Joseph K V, a former professor of Economics at St Xavier’s College, Thumba, has been awarded a senior fellowship in Cultural Economics, instituted by the Union Ministry of Culture for the year 2010-11.  The fellowship is for a research work on the topic ‘Survival of Malayalam drama in the face of competition from mediated drama of the culture industry.’   Dr K V Joseph is the recipient of senior fellowships, both of the Indian Council of Social Sciences Research and the Indian Council of Historical Research. He has a number of books and other publications to his credit.
