THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The security was beefed up in the capital ahead of the Babri Masjid demolition anniversary that falls on Tuesday. Special police patrolling teams have been posted at vital locations in the city. This time around, owing to the international attention received by the Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple after the unearthing of the temple treasure, security in and around the temple has been further tightened. Besides deploying additional force, specially-armed police patrol will be deployed at the temple. According to police, they would keep on tracking the pilgrim flow. Already, 58 CCTV cameras have been installed with a control room being set up in the office of the DCP in charge of the temple security. Metal detectors are in place and the devotees would be closely monitored through the 24 X 7 high-definition cameras. Special security cover would be provided to key installations like pump houses and water tanks of the Kerala Water Authority.
