New Delhi: It’s Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Amar Singh’s 51st birthday next week and guess who will pay him a holy visit? His rich and famous friends from tinseltown will join him in offering prayers at a temple in Varanasi.
Sources say Singh along with the Bachchan family, including Amitabh Bachchan, his wife Jaya Bachchan, son Abhishek Bachchan and their would-be-daughter-in-law former Miss World Aishwarya Rai will offer prayers at the famous Goddess Vindyavasini shrine in Mirzapur district near Varanasi on January 27.
Amar Singh’s wife Pankaja Kumari Singh and twin daughters Drishti and Disha will also be present at the ceremony and sources say UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav may also join them at the Vindhyavasini temple during the special Bhagwati pujan.
The prayers will be followed by the marriage of 51 poor girls and their Kanyadan will be performed by Amar Singh and his wife, divulged sources.
This will be Aishwarya’s first appearance at a puja as the would-be-daughter-in-law of the Bachchan family. Last week, Abhishek and Aishwarya were engaged in a closely-guarded ceremony at the Bachchan residence.
Incidentally, this will be the Bachchan clan and Singh’s second visit to the holy city in the recent past.
In November, Aishwarya along the Bachchan family and Singh had offered early morning prayers at the world famous Kashi Vishwanath and Sankatmochan temples in the city, sparking off speculations about the Ash-Abhishek marriage.
