Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday said mountaineers from the state who have gone on an expedition to Mt Everest are safe.

Haldar has set out on an expedition to climb the Mt Everest on April 14.
Meanwhile, mountaineer Dipankar Ghosh, the Everest conquerer who is currently on an expedition to Mt Annapurna, the 10th highest peak in the world, in Nepal, is also safe.
An official of 'Angan Chaariye', the organisation that organised Ghosh's expedition, said that the seasoned campaigner has informed him that he and his other Korean team members are safe.
