The CBPST Kochi Centre, FACT, Udyogamandal, will collaborate with the varsity in academic programmes such MSc Biopolymer Science and PhD programmes initially. The Centre will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers M K Azhagiri on August 25. Neelkamal Darbari said the collaboration would open opportunities in the field. Acknowledging the research work of the Department of Polymer Science and Rubber Technology, Cusat, she said that it spurred them to initiate the venture.
Specialised academic programmes such as MSc, MTech and PhD in Biopolymer Science and technology will be offered. Joint research and development activities will be undertaken in biopolymers and natural fibres and related areas of mutual interest.
