Ranchi: Contrary to its estranged leader Babulal Marandi's adverse opinion on the Jharkhand government, BJP on Friday said it was satisfied with the performance of Chief Minister Arjun Munda.
Party leaders said that they hoped Marandi would return to the party's fold.
"The Chief Minister is doing very well. And we are sure Babulal Marandi will return to the party-fold to lend his cooperation," says Sumitra Mahajan, who is incharge of the party's Jharkhand affairs.
Disagreeing with Marandi's charge that the party had ignored the interests of Jharkhand, leading to "corruption and non-development", Mahajan stated, "Jharkhand is like our child, and can anybody ignore its own child?"
Mahajan asserted that there was no threat to the NDA government. "There is some problem, and we will face it. But there is not even the remotest threat to the government", she said.
Asked whether she had come to meet Marandi, Mahajan said,"Though I have not come to meet him, I will definitely talk to him if he is available in Ranchi. I have come here to meet state party leaders and workers".
Mahajan, in a closed door meeting at the Chief Minister's residence, discussed the developments arising out of Marandi's sudden decision to quit the party, with the Chief Minister, organising secretary Hridayanth Singh and Jharkhand unit President Yadunath Pandey after landing straight from Delhi.
