Nagpur: A Bharatiya Janata Party worker and four members of his family were killed in Nagpur's Aradhana Nagar in the early hours of Sunday night.
Kamlakar Pohankar, his wife Archana, daughter Vedanti, Nephew Ganesh and mother Mirabai were hacked to death with sharp weapons by unknown persons while the family was asleep.
The killing came to light on Monday morning when a neighbour received no response upon calling Kamlakar.
"He was a BJP worker. He had a good reputation in the society. I am not aware of his enmity with anyone," Eshwar Denge, a relative of Kamlakar told News18.
The police suspect that the killings happened due to family dispute.
DCP SD Dighavkar said, "The killings happened between 1am and 3am. We suspect the killers to be insiders. Initial investigation points towards a family dispute."

A relative of Kamlakar, who stayed with the family, is absconding after the incident.
Police are on the lookout and suspect that he was involved in the killing.
