BANGALORE: BNM Institute of Technology, part of BNM Educational Institutions, recently held the inauguration of first year BE Classes at the college premises located at Banashankari II Stage. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ali Khwaja, chairman, Banjara Academy, “It is very glad that the institution is committed to offer not only quality education but also inculcate the values of life to the students in order to shape them to citizens. Also, it feels good that the college lay more emphasis on extracurricular activities with special focus on sports and nature.”Commenting on the vision of BNM Institute of Technology, Prof T J Rama Murthy, director, BNM Institute of Technology said, “Our institute is keen to harness the inherent potential of the young minds and nurture their talent in the most scientific and professional manner. We have adopted the best global practices in education and would set a new benchmark heralding novel concept of teaching.” Narayan Rao R Maanay, secretary, explained the BNMIT’s motive for every student is to excel in all fields. All students who are securing distinction in their university semester examinations are awarded mementos. The students who secure an average of 90 per cent or more in the first four semesters and in the last four semesters will be awarded with gold medals. Also, the institution is committed to provide scholarships to those students who are meritorious and economically weak in the society. In 2009, the college gave a sum of Rs. 4.80 lakhs to these students, Rs. 7.30 lakh last year and in the current year 2011; the college has increased the sum to Rs. 9.30 lakh to help benefit the students.
