BANGALORE: Bangalore University Registrar Dr B C Mylarappa visited the hostels on the Jnana Bharathi campus on Tuesday. Taking a note of the crumbling infrastructure, he has decided to call a meeting of Works Committee on December 20.“I visited the women’s hostel and all three PG hostels. The Hostel Reformation Committee will compile a report of the all problems in the hostels. The report will be placed in the Works Committee meeting on December 20,” said Dr Mylarappa. Later, at a programme organised by the Research Scholars and Postgraduate Students’ Association (RSPSA) to mark the 55th death anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, Dr Mylarappa said, “Most of the students in the hostel belong to backward classes. We are still underpreviliged. The toilets here are the same since I was a student here.” In the recently concluded 98th Syndicate meeting, it was decided to form a Hostel Reformation Committee to look into hostel issues. The committee is headed by Jagadish Prakash, with members D S Krishna, Zamida Mullah, Srinivasaiah and Manasa Nagabhushanam.
