BAGALKOT: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said the state Budget will be presented in the second week of March. Gowda told reporters in Bilgi near Bagalkot on Wednesday that priority will be given to irrigation projects and agriculture, and suggestions are being taken to present a pro-people Budget. Stress will be on welfare schemes for poor and farmers and education.The government is committed to implementing work on the 3rd stage of the Upper Krishna Project following the Krishna Tribunal’s verdict. Necessary steps will also be taken for rehabilitation of the displaced, said the Chief Minister.Asked about president of Karnataka BJP Senior Forum president B B Shivappa’s demand to expel former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, Gowda said, “State unit president Eshwarappa will look into it.” The Chief Minister said there was no need to give importance to Bhootaradhane held in his village on Tuesday, adding that it was only part of a tradition.
