CHENNAI: The CBI will interrogate a senior police officer in connection with the murder of advocate R Sankara Subbu’s son Sathish Kumar, CBI senior counsel N Chandrasekaran told the Madras HC on Monday.When the matter came up, Chandrasekaran told a division bench comprising Justices C Nagappan and PR Shivakumar that CBI would certainly ask him under what circumstances he had made the statement that no injury was found on the body.Earlier, TN Advocates Association president S Prabakaran wondered as to how the senior police officer had given a wrong statement that there was no injury on the body of Sathish Kumar, even before the autopsy was conducted.When the body was fished out from a lake near ICF on June 13, only four 10 rupees notes were recovered from it. However, in his belated inquest report, prepared on June 16, inspector Suresh Babu had stated that two blades were recovered from the body, he pointed out and sought for the custodial interrogation of Suresh Babu. Adjourning the matter till July 18, the bench told the CBI counsel not to treat the State police as an inferior organisation.
