HYDERABAD: A host of events are lined up for the people as the Navratri celebrations draw to a close on Vijayadasami. Colourful and different, they are enticing enough for one to brave the rain and hit the streets.At the end of the Saddula Bathukamma celebrations, Shilparamam at Madhapur will host Jammi puja and Bathukamma dance on Thursday.Keeping up the tradition of jatras, folk artists from Khammam will enthral the audience with Chindu Yakshaganam performance, based on the Hindu mythology.Resident Bengalis can look forward to catching up on Rabindra Sangeet and popular music on October 5 at the celebrations going on at the Lower Tank Bund road and the Keyes Girls High School at Secunderabad.The Secunderabad club will also host a semi-classical dance drama for those interested in performing arts on Thursday and dandiya event on Friday morning.On Vijayadasami, celebration of ‘Sindur-Utsab’ by women and immersion provide an opportunity for a different cultural experience.The closing ceremony at dandiya events across the city promises to be big.On Vijayadashami, watch the virtuous triumph over evil by participating in Ravan Dahan at various locations.Police Grounds in Amberpet, Ashtalakshmi temple near LB Nagar, Khairatabad Chaman and Karavan are some of the places to visit for watching the fireworks.
