CHENNAI: In a tragic incident, a three-year-old girl slipped and fell to her death from the second floor of her building at Kothavalchavadi on Monday.Inspector S Gunasekharan told Express that K Neelam lived with her parents and elder sister K Sanjana (5) on the third floor of an apartment building on Amman Koil Street. On Monday, the toddler’s father Kanthilal, a businessman, had gone out. Around 8 am, her mother also stepped out to drop Sanjana in a local school. On returning, she found a crowd gathered inside the premises and found Neelam lying in a heap on the ground with injuries on her head.Neighbours rushed the girl to a private hospital on Mint Street, where she was declared ‘brought dead’, and informed the police. Probe showed that the girl had climbed down to the second floor and tried to take a peep from the balcony. Neelam’s body was sent to the Stanley Government Hospital for autopsy and subsequently handed over to her parents, police said.Teen Found DeadA 14-year-old helper in a graveyard was found dead with his throat slit in Nanmangalam forest area in the Pallikaranai police limits on Monday. Police said the boy, later identified as Kabali, was found lying in a pool of blood with his throat slit. He was wearing a blue trouser and red T-shirt. Kabali was working as a helper in a graveyard nearby as his father Velu was home bound after he suffered paralysis, five years back and his mother Vijaya left the family. Police sent the body to the Chromepet GH.
