Chiru gets party nod to act in films

HYDERABAD: Film actor Chiranjeevi obtained permission from his party bosses to act in films. Though he is a Congress leader and now a member of the Parliament, he is still keen on dancing and fighting in films as old habits die hard.For the time being, he is now concentrating his energies on his 150th movie. Congress leaders advised him to choose themes which have a message for the audience in the hope that Chiranjeevi might one day emerge as messiah for the Congress which is in tatters now.AICC emissary and Union minister Vayalar Ravi, who called on Chiranjeevi at his residence recently during his visit to the state, advised him to continue his acting profession. He opined that movies also help strengthen the Congress party in the state. This was disclosed by Chiranjeevi himself in Tirupati on Sunday.AICC wants to utilise the services of Chiranjeevi all over the country to popularise Congress government programmes and policies. Chiranjeevi said that if he likes the storyline and the creative abilities of a director he is ready to act. He wants to act in Malayalam and Tamil movies also but that may not be possible. He however, said he was happy that his son’s recent film ‘Rachha’ was released in Malayalam and Tamil languages as well. Chiranjeevi would visit Delhi on Monday and likely to meet several party leaders to discuss his future programme. He is expected to take oath in the Rajya Sabha shortly.
