BANGALORE: The Northeast division police have cracked 123 cases in the last two months and have arrested 61 criminals. Stolen property worth over `Two crore has been recovered. The Yelahanka police have arrested a supari killer wanted by Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh police.
The accused has been identified as Bombay Saleem alias Mohamad Khalimulla alias Chotu (30) of Goripalya. One kilograms of gold ornaments and five kilos of silver worth Rs 23 lakh have been recovered from him.The police said that he was presently living at Hyderabad and was wanted in 46 cases including eight murder and four attempt to murder cases. "He used to commit thefts and dispose the stolen properties in Sollapur. He is also involved in various cases in other states," the police added.
The Amruthahalli police have arrested Manjunatha alias Komghatta Manja alias Akki Manja (25) and have recovered gold and diamond ornaments worth `40 lakh from him. The Kotthanur police have arrested four car lifters and have recovered 11 cars worth `34 lakh, that were stolen from city, Mandya, Mysore, Channarayapatna and other places. The accused are Loki alias Lokesh (28), Gopal alias Rajagopal (31), Dadoo Peer alias Kamar (54) and Ishan (32).Goods worth `2.5 lakh have been recovered from them.Army truck runs over manAccording to the police, Chandrashekar was going on a bike in which his friend Suresh was pillion. On Ambedkar Veedhi, an army truck rammed his bike from behind. The truck ran over Chandrashekhar, who had fallen on the road. The pillion rider Suresh sustained minor injuries in the accident.
