BANGALORE: Charging that the entire law and order situation has been collapsed in the state, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dr G Parameshwar urged the state government to conduct a CBI inquirt into the murders of two senior Karnataka officers, including Mahantesh.He was speaking to the media after paying homage to the former Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi at the KPCC premises here on Monday.Criticising both Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda and Home Minister R Ashok for not visiting the hospital where Mahanhesh was battling for his life. The KPCC president had urged the government to refer the killing of forest officer Madan Nayak and the Deputy Director in the co-operative department Mahantesh for a CBI inquiry or order for a judicial inquiry into the incidents.Coming down heavily against the Home minister R Ashok for not making any statements on the killing of Mahantesh, the Congress leader suspected the hands of the invisible elements behind the incident.He spoke about an incident where, people in a village in Mandya district have socially boycotted the people belonging to scheduled caste for over five months. The KPCC president said, “The people belonging to suppressed classes in the society have no state protection against such inhuman practice.”He also urged the district administration to end the social boycott immediately. KPYCC president Rizwan, senior party leaders M V Rajashekharan, Rani Sathish and others were also present.
