NEW DELHI: Accusing the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Kiran Kumar Reddy of adopting an uncalled for vindictive attitude towards the people agitating for a separate Telangana state, Congress MPs from the region on Thursday declared that they would stand by Telangana people during the crucial hour. Congress MPs from the Telangana region took strong exception to the statements of DGP Dinesh Reddy in view of the proposed ‘Rail Roko’ from October 15 and described them as provocative. Lok Sabha member Ponnam Prabhakar said MPs would not tolerate the threats to employees and students by the government. Congress MPs also criticised the state government’s decision to conduct Group II service commission examinations in the state on October 15. They advised the State government to postpone the examinations. Rajya Sabha member K Kesava Rao said those who were appearing for the examinations would face difficulties to attend as the entire traffic in the region had collapsed due to the general strike.Congress MPs also demanded the state government to distribute salary advances to the agitating government employees from Telangana region on the occasion of Diwali. They pointed out that the ministers from the Telangana region already made a plea in this regard.
