Contradictions in Sunanda Pushkar's medical report, past records reveal she was treated for Lupus
Details of her medical condition reveal that she was keeping unwell for at least three months prior to her death.

New Delhi: Even as the Delhi Police chief confirmed that Congress MP Shashi Tharoor will be questioned in a day or two in his wife Sunanda Pushkar's death case, details of the medical condition right before her death indicate that she claimed to be a patient of Lupus.

Details of her medical condition reveal that she was keeping unwell for at least three months prior to her death. The prescription of the hospital suggests that Sunanda was on a drug called Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ). It is used to treat auto immune disorders like Lupus.

These details corroborate Tharoor's claim that she was not on the pink of health before January 17, 2014. The AIIMS medical board's final report has negated the possibility of Sunanda suffering from Lupus.

According to sources, doctors treating Sunanda are of the opinion that she was poisoned by the concoction of drugs prescribed to her. This was also the medical opinion which was forwarded by Tharoor to the AIIMS director.

Sunanda's own tweets also back Tharoor's claims that she was unwell for at least three months prior to her death. However, the AIMMS medical board's final report says categorically she was a normal, healthy human being with no chronic diseases.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police chief BS Bassi said that Tharoor has been asked to join the investigation and will be questioned in a day or two. "Tharoor is out of town and will be back by Tuesday evening. We will either be questioning him tomorrow itself or day after. We will be talking to everyone connected with the case," he said.

The Delhi Police had on January 6 filed a murder case in connection with Sunanda Pushkar's death under section 302 of IPC on the basis of an AIIMS medical report that stated that her death was unnatural and was due to poisoning.

Bassi said Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar, whose friendship with Tharoor had reportedly led to a row between him and Sunanda, may also be questioned if needed.

Sunanda was found dead in her Delhi hotel room under suspicious circumstances on January 17, 2014. The police have filed a murder case against unknown people and claimed that her death was due to poisoning.
