BANGALORE: The 23rd Sessions Court on Wednesday ordered an inquiry against Congress leader and MLA D K Shivakumar in connection with denotification of 5.11 acres of land off Old Madras Road, Bangalore.The complainant, T J Abharam, alleged that Shivakumar bought the said land at Benniganahalli during the tenure of the B S Yeddyurappa-led government.He stated that the land was denotified in the name of K Sreenivasan who had died in 2004. Shivakumar is alleged to have purchased the land from him in December 2003 for Rs 1.62 crore, which the complainant claims to be valued over Rs 40 crore.The complainant stated that the deal violated the Karnataka Restriction of Transfer of Land Act, 1991, as section 3 of the Act bans people from selling land subsequent to acquisition.
