KOCHI: Union Minister of State for Food and Consumer Affairs K V Thomas on Saturday inaugurated the CVJ Aswas Scheme, a project initiated by Maithri and CVJ Foundation.The pilot project will be implemented in Kizhakkambalam panchayat. The project envisages to involve people’s participation in developing community mental health in panchayats. Awareness campaigns to improve the mental and emotional health of the socially backward people will be conducted as part of the project.“The project aims at formulating a vulnerability map and finding solutions to help people who are identified with various problems. We will be directly associated with the people’s problems,” said P O George, Maithri secretary. P Rajeev MP, Maithri director T Padmakumar, Kizhakambalam panchayat president Jolly Baby, vice-president Elias Kaipra, CVJ Foundation chairperson Eliamma Jacob and Maithri chairman Fr Jose Alex were also present.
