Depressed woman who set herself afire dies

HYDERABAD: A woman has ended her life reportedly depressed over her daughter's poor performance in studies. The woman set herself ablaze a few days back and died late on Tuesday night while undergoing treatment.The deceased, A Suvarna (32) was a resident of Saleem Nagar Colony in Malakpet. She has two children, 15-year-old Sandhya and 13-year-old Sandeep, who are studying in class X and VIII respectively in a local school. Police said Suvarna was worried over her daughter's poor performance in studies since the past few months.  Though Suvarna tried to prevail upon her daughter to put up a good show, the girl did not mend her ways worrying her parents. Reportedly depressed over this, Suvarna set herself ablaze on October 29 and was shifted to a hospital with severe burns. She died on Tuesday night.
