Aviation Minister Praful Patel said that the fares are affecting not only tourism but also individuals.
New Delhi: Aviation Minister Praful Patel, while addressing the media after the Civil Aviation Economic Advisory Council meet, on Friday, said that the Aviation Ministry and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) were unhappy with fares on airline websites.
He said that though spot fares will be higher than the regular airfare, but the present spot fares are not justified. He said, "Airlines should bring more transparency on spot fares." He also said that the fares are affecting not only tourism but also individuals.
Patel said that the DGCA and airlines will have more such meetings in coming days and asked the airlines to take into consideration larger passenger interest.
