CHENNAI: Remarks criticising Union Minister M K Alagiri caused noisy scenes in the State Assembly on Thursday and led to eviction of DMK members en masse and suspension of four DMK MLAs for 10 days for showing disrespect to the Chair.The suspended DMK MLAs are E V Velu, Soundarapandiyan, Mohideen Khan and Cumbum N Ramakrishnan, who raised slogans against the Speaker while being evicted from the House.AIADMK member K Thamizharasan, during the discussion on the demand for grants for the Agriculture Department, made some remarks about Alagiri and alleged that he had let loose violence in Madurai during the previous DMK regime. This sparked sharp reactions from DMK members who demanded the expunction of the remarks. Speaker D Jayakumar said he would give an opportunity to the DMK members to express their views. But the DMK MLAs were on their feet.
