DMK plans stir on August 1

CHENNAI:  Charging that the AIADMK government was foisting land grab cases against DMK functionaries to weaken the party, the DMK on Thursday announced a Statewide agitation on August 1 to condemn the government's attitude.
DMK chief M Karunanidhi said, "Already, the DMK had made its stand clear on the issue. The government can take action against the errant, irrespective of party affiliation. But, it should not foist cases against DMK men to harass them and weaken the party." He said it was unfair to ignore land grab allegations levelled against people like agriculture minister S Krishnamurthy. A DMK press release said the next course of action would be decided at the party's general council meeting in Coimbatore.
