DYFI, UDF activists clash at Vettithara

KOCHI: DYFI and UDF actvists clashed following the election victory celebrations at Vettithara near Piravom on Thursday. The incident occurred when a group of Kerala Congress and Congress activists reached the Harijan Colony, which was a CPM stronghold, to celebrate the UDF’s victory in the bypoll. Police officials said that one person in the group made obscene gestures to the residents here. In retaliation to this, a DYFI member attacked the person. The injured person has been identified as Sasi and he is admitted in the Government Hospital in Piravom. The police have registered a case in the matter.
