Education is human awakening

BANGALORE:  A lecture on ‘Education and Human Progress’ was organised by PES PU college at Prof MR Doreswamy Auditorium on Saturday.Speaking on the occasion, Swamy Veereshananda Saraswathi, President, Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashram, Tumkur, addressed the students stressing upon education and its effect on human progress and how one can acquire an evolved personality through his striking examples. While speaking about the importance of education, he said, “Education is not mere animal training but human awakening.”  He defined the education as something from which character is formed, strength is increased, intellect is expanded and one can become self-reliant.  He advised the students not to completely depend on luck for success but always believe in hard work as there is no parallel route to success. He said that success is the comparison between what we have achieved and what we can achieve.
