NAMAKKAL/TIRUPUR: In a case of hit and run, an engineering student and her father were crushed to death in Rasipuram near here on Thursday.According to police sources, S Kruthiga (20), a second year ECE student in a private engineering college in Coimbatore, arrived at her house here on the eve of Deepavali. She was scheduled to return to Coimbatore on Thursday morning. At 4.30 am on Thursday, Kruthiga’s father, G Selvaraj (47) was taking her on his two-wheeler to Angagalur Gate so that she could join her collegemates for her return journey to Coimbatore, when the mishap occurred.Kruthiga and her father were reportedly crushed to death by an unknown vehicle, which fled the spot.Upon getting word, the Rasipuram police rushed to the spot, recovered their bodies and sent them to the GH for autopsy. A case has been filed and further inquiry is on.59-year-old Found Dead in TirupurA 59-year-old man was found dead near Kundadam on Wednesday. Police sources said Subbukutty, resident of Old Nava Kombu at Kundadam, left home on Wednesday morning and did not return till evening. After a search, family members found him dead at Aduppu Kuzhi near his house. Subbukutty was a diabetic. However, raising suspicion over the cause of death, Subbukutty’s son Navaneetha Krishnan lodged a complaint with the Kundadam Police. The body has been sent for postmortem.
