THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Registration Minister T M Jacob has said that the government will refix the fair value in places where there are anomalies.Jacob told reporters here on Thursday that the government would look into complaints about the fair value received from the public.He said that the Registration Department would soon introduce estamping facility in place of stamp paper. This was aimed at checking stamp paper frauds.Jacob, who also holds the charge of Food and Civil Supplies, said that the Civil Supplies Corporation decided to waive the commission it received from drug companies while purchasing lifesaving medicines. This would result in the reduction of price of lifesaving medicines sold through Neethi Medical Stores, he said.He said that the government had identified some bogus ones among the applications received for rice at Rs 2 per kg scheme for APL families.The norms stipulate that any applicant who submits a self affidavit that he had a family income of less than Rs 25,000, land less than 2.5 acres and a house of less than 2,500 sq ft could apply for the scheme.However, many of the applicants, on verification, were found not to be falling in these categories, he said.The government would make it compulsory to submit the income certificate and certificate showing land area from the village office and the certificate to prove the house area from the local body for getting rice under the scheme, he said.The minister said that a kit containing nine essential commodities priced at Rs 300 will be provided at Rs 150 through a subsidised scheme.Jacob stated that the rice at Rs 1 per kg scheme would be introduced before Onam.
