As the city expands, residents look for their own little slice of land in various places. Making the exercise a little less daunting, ‘Expanding Metropolis’, a grand property fair, has been launched at the Express Avenue mall.
The two-day event, organised by The New Indian Express group showcases several housing options for every price range. The fair was inaugurated by Chairman and Managing Director of The New Indian Express Group, Manoj Kumar Sonthalia.
R Varadarajan, managing director of Repco Bank, who provide easy home loans for those purchasing houses through the property fair, was also present. Speaking to Express, Varadarajan said, “Those who want a loan can directly approach the manager at our stall. They can immediately assess their income level, ability to repay and the loan amount; a spot approval can be given.”
Housing projects along the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) and Poonamalee offered apartments, duplex and independent villas. Affordable luxury apartments in the heart of the city were also advertised. Stalls were put up by reputed builders, including TVH, Vijay Shanthi, Citilights, Arihant, Marutham Group and Arun Excello. A central pavillion for Chennapattinam was also set up. Cement manufacturers, inverter and solar panel companies also presented their products as a value addition to homes. Popular items from online shopping portal, Indiavarta, were available at their stall. Several visitors to the mall on Saturday were seen browsing through the fair, held in the atrium. The event would conclude on Sunday.
