YADGIR: All five members of a family who were on their way to Bidar to meet their relatives were killed when the car in which they were travelling in fell into a canal near Mudabula Cross in Shahapur taluk on Bijapur-Srirangapattana highway on Friday morning.The deceased have been identified as Ramarao (45), Prakashrao (40) Lalita (32), Jyoti (18) and car driver Vittal Reddy (40).While Jyoti died on the way to the hospital, the other four passengers drowned in the canal. All the deceased belonged to Kaleramandi village of Medak district in Andhra Pradesh.Police said that the accident occurred as the driver fell asleep. The car fell into the 50-foot canal. The Fire Department personnel fished out the bodies.Autopsy of the bodies was done at the Shahapur government hospital. Gulbarga Inspector General of Police and Yadgir Superintendent of Police visited the accident spot.
