HYDERABAD: Five children from the Urdu-medium Government Girls High School at Maisaram in Barkas were injured, including three seriously, when a portion of the adjacent building of the same school which is under construction collapsed on their class room’s roof on Wednesday morning. The three fifth standard students - Zaveeri Begum, Farzana Begum, Sheik Begum - are said to be serious. “When classes were going on, the debris came crashing down on to the asbestos roof top and later fell on the students seated inside,” Chandrayanguta police said. Other students immediately ran out of the room .The injured were rushed to Owaisi hospital. Locals and parents raised slogans against Hyderabad collector Natarajan Gulzar and the district education officer for their alleged negligence. There were nearly 20 students inside the room on which the debris fell. Police has decided to register a negligence case against the contractor of the building.
