New Delhi: Production-distribution banner Fox Star Studios has raised its stakes in the Tamil film industry by entering into an alliance with producer C.V. Kumar's Thirukumaran Entertainment for two exciting projects - 'Mundasupatti' and 'V. Chitram".
Both the films are slated for release in 2014.
Kumar, who has strengthened his foothold in the Tamil film world with tearaway hits like "Attakathi", "Pizza" and "Soodhu Kavvum", says it's a dream come true for him to work with such a production giant.
"I remember many years ago, when I went to Los Angeles and saw the giant movie studios there, I decided I wanted to be a movie producer. I could never have imagined that in such few years, I would be working with a leading international studio like Fox Star Studios.
"It is truly a dream come true for me. I work very hard on every film and it is good to work with a partner who has an international expertise in developing, marketing and distributing films," Kumar said in a statement.
Fox Star Studios' past Tamil projects include "Engaeyum Eppothum" (2011) and "Vathikuchi" (2013). The studio has two other projects - "Raja Rani", slated for release later this year and "Cukkoo", which went on floors in July 2013.
The Studio is focused on increasing its presence in the Tamil film industry, says Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios.
"While we have extended our successful association in Tamil with A.R. Murugadoss to Hindi as well, we are also increasing our footprint in the Tamil industry by partnering with C.V. Kumar's Thirukumaran Entertainment," said Singh.
"C.V. Kumar has proven himself as one of the market leaders who is high concept driven with budget conscious- qualities that resonate well with our brand . Together, we promise highly entertaining cinema," he added.
