HYDERABAD: Jailed mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy and his brotherinlaw BV Srinivas Reddy have been granted a special room for themselves inside the Chanchalguda prison.
Special CBI Court magistrate B Naga Maruthi Sharma on Tuesday granted permission for allocation of a special room under 'A category' for the two accused in the mining case. On October 31 Janardhan Reddy's counsel moved a petition seeking their shifting to special rooms considering their status in the society and their health condition. The counsel filed the petition under the AP Prison Act. Under the special 'Acategory', the accused will be eligible for a bed, a fan, mosquito nets, magazines and newspapers. A cook and an attender will also be allowed. They will also become eligible for a special diet and nonvegetarian food as well. Satyam Computers founder B Ramalinga Raju, who has been released on bail recently, also enjoyed a special room in the same jail.
