KOLLAM: Expressing their solidarity with Minister for Sports and Cinema K B Ganesh Kumar, in the wake of recent inner party conflicts in the Kerala Congress(B), a group of party workers led by a few who were recently expelled from the district committee, has formed a cultural organisation named ‘K B Ganesh Kumar Janakeeya Vedi’.Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, the president of the organisation Peroor Sajeev criticised the practice of suspending party workers faithful to the party and protecting another section of party workers who were staging protests against Ganesh Kumar and misleading party chairman R Balakrishna Pillai. The party lacks inner party democracy and there is no overruling of party chairman’s decisions.“Sajeev, a relative of Balakrishna Pillai and the only panchayat member of the party in the western parts of the district and several other party workers who were loyal party followers for the past 30 years or so, were ousted from the district committee,” Janakeeya Vedi office-bearers said. They demanded the party to remove certain office-bearers of the district committee, who had criminal record. Asked about whether the newly formed organisation had Ganesh Kumar’s consent, Sajeev said that he had informed the minister about the formation of such an organisation.
