The police van was carrying the body of a Nigerian who was found stabbed to death in the Mapusa area in Goa.
Goa: Over 100 Nigerians attacked a police van on Thursday in Goa, which was carrying the body of a fellow national found stabbed to death in Mapusa area.
The body was being taken for a post-mortem when the mob dragged the body out of the van and formed a blockade at the site demanding the police arrest the culprits. Fifty-three Nigerians have been detained
"The protest took place after committing a serious crime of attacking a police officer, almost to the point of murdering him. We have detained 53 of the Nigerians. The murder is a separate case, that will be investigated," said Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
