Law Minister Suresh Kumar on Friday here said there is no communication gap between the state government and senior lawyers representing it in the Supreme Court in the ongoing Cauvery water sharing row with Tamil Nadu.
Kumar told here on Friday that Water Resources Minister Basavaraj Bommai and other ministers were constantly in touch with the lawyers.
“We provided them with the information required in the case and they advised us and cleared our doubts,” he said rubbishing the opposition’s allegation that the communication gap between the state government and its counsels in New Delhi weakened the case.
Kumar said that Chief Secretary to Karnataka government will attend the Cauvery Monitoring Committee (CMC) meeting in New Delhi on October 8.
The CMC meeting that will be chaired by the Central Water Resources Department Secretary will be attended by Chief Secretaries of all Cauvery riparian states.
Suresh Kumar also said that the Cauvery fourth stage second phase project to provide drinking water to many areas in Bangalore will not be affected by the Cauvery row
