Gowda to hold fast

BANGALORE: Former prime minister HD Deve Gowda will 'repent' on behalf of the people of Hassan district by going on a day's hunger strike in front of deputy commissioner's office in Hassan today.
Gowda alleged at a press meet here on Tuesday that the BJP government has not taken up any developmental activities in Hassan district just because the people have voted for JD(S) in all the elections from Lok Sabha to panchayats and hence he has decided to stage a hunger strike. "The people are suffering on account of the politics of vengeance of the BJP. Why should they suffer on account of me? Let me express solidarity with the people by remaining hungry for atleast a day," Gowda added.
