ROURKELA: The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Sunday arrested four members of a gang on charges of stealing luggage from passengers on the Puri-Rourkela passenger train.GRP sleuths were keeping a tab on the movement of suspected people after Rakesh Sekhar Dev of Rourkela lodged a complaint with Jharsuguda GRP on Tuesday claiming that some youths stole his bag containing jewellery worth `4 lakh and `50,000 cash. The arrested have been identified as gang leader Santosh Mandal, Raj Mandal, Pravas Yadav and Lalu Yadav from whom the cash was recovered. Sources said, GRP is anticipating that the gold ornaments were sent to Bihar for disposal. However, investigation revealed that all the culprits belonged to Bihar and operated on trains plying in the Howrah-Kharagpur-Tata route and Rourkela-Jharusuguda-Sambalpur route.
