Guideline value hike opposed

ERODE: Real estate business may soon become standstill due to a steep hike in land guideline value, according to several realtors in the district.The realtors are also worried as to how some IAS officials deluded the government in steeply hiking the guideline value.Now, even middle class people, who are remitting land cost in instalments to the realtors, could face problems in registering their document due to high land guideline value, they noted. The hike in guideline value came into force from April 1.The last one week witnessed few holidays. Only after Monday, those who want to register documents would visit the offices to ascertain the land cost. Then only, the issue would invite strong protest, the realtors said.
